Welcome to BDSC

We welcome applications from in-zone, out-of-zone and international students. The first step is to check whether your home address is within the BDSC school zone, then follow the appropriate application process.

In-zone enrolments are completed online and remain open throughout the year. Out-of-zone applications use a printed form and are available only during the advertised application period.

What you’ll need to enrol

The documents required depend on your circumstances. Review the sections below before completing your application. The College may request further verification.

  • Sale and Purchase agreement if the home was purchased within the last three months.
  • A current electricity account, supplier verification or welcome letter showing your name and address.
  • One additional current account showing your name and address, such as a phone bill, insurance receipt or vehicle registration.

  • A tenancy agreement valid for 12 months from the student’s first day at BDSC, for a council-approved rateable dwelling occupied solely by your family.
  • A current electricity account, supplier verification or welcome letter showing your name and address.
  • Bond lodgement confirmation from Tenancy Services.
  • One other current utility or similar account showing your name and address.

If you moved from a property you owned within the last 12 months, provide evidence of what happened to that property (sold, rented or vacant). If you moved from a rental property, provide the final electricity account.

Additional evidence may be needed, including a mail redirection receipt for a move within the last month, shipping receipts or receipts for essential household items.

  • Birth certificate or NZ citizenship certificate for New Zealand citizens.
  • For non-New Zealand citizens, relevant student passport, visa or residence documentation and parent passport/work permit documents as specified by BDSC.
  • Student’s latest school report.
  • Student’s immunisation record.
  • Legal guardianship or authorised primary duty-of-care evidence, if applicable.

The College requires a statutory declaration for in-zone applicants, witnessed by a New Zealand solicitor or Justice of the Peace.

The home address must be the student’s genuine usual place of residence. Newly enrolled students are expected to live in-zone for 12 months from their first day. If a student later moves out of zone, BDSC says written permission must be requested from the School Board to remain enrolled.

These are BDSC’s published requirements; please confirm the latest policy wording before launch.
